ETCBC Hebrew Syntax

Dr. Nathan Parker

Recommended Posts

I heard Accordance has announced the new ETCBC Hebrew Syntax. I've seen a screenshot of this today, but can someone explain what the difference is between it and the BHS-T and Holmstedt Syntax module I already own? Just curious on what this would offer me should I purchase it sometime.

Thanks!

Different philosophy (linguistic approach), different layers of grammar tagged (mine is only syntax, theirs has more). There will be a long multi-authored article comparing the databases that will come out next late spring/summer in the Journal of Semitics (South Africa). It is based in the presentations about the three syntax databases (ours, ETCBC, and Andersen-Forbes) given at the IOSOT conference in S.A. last September.

With apologies, more than this would take too much space for the forum.

Sounds good. Can you DM me a copy of the article when it becomes available? I would love to read it. I own yours and A-F (in Logos), so it will be a very interesting read.

Nathan: Please watch for an announcement. None of us have time to note and remember individual requests for months in advance.

The reason I mentioned the DM was I'm not sure if I have access to Journal of Semitics (South Africa) unless it is publically available. I have full access to JETS, JBL, RBL, Tyndale Bulletin, and BBR (as well as all the TJL archives), but I'm not completely sure how to access Journal of Semitics, and I wouldn't likely subscribe for access to the single article I'm interested in. :-)
