markchenhalls
The addition of Stacks and Papers functions required creativity in avoiding the error message "workspace is too small or has too many zones" This issue occurred even if using a large external display Prior to stacks and papers, many had preferred workspaces with 6+ open zones Attempts to add Stacks and Papers zones produced an error message "workspace is too small or has too many zones" Option 1 - replace some of the zones with the new functionality Option 2 - add a new workspace and somehow link the two workspaces Option 3 - use the "move to bottom" function in the gear icon to create a 3rd row (Screen print attached) The gear icon for many of the zones has a "move up" "move down" function that allows that zone (ex info pane) to be moved to a second row. Instant Details can be moved if needed to the very bottom (third row) Sample layout with EIGHT zones First row - 1) Library (extends the complete length of display 2) English text 3) linked original language text 4) stacks Second Row - 1) opened resource (commentary/dictionary) 2) info pane 3) papers (below stacks) Third row - 1) instant details
markchenhalls
Discovered that even more than 8 zones can be displayed in one tab Tools and mobile notes can appear in a zone underneath Stacks and Papers The new 4K TVs ($300-$400) can be used as a monitor which allows 40 Inches or more of display Depending on your resolution and font size, Accordance and 3-4 other applications can share the same screen 1 brain looking at 20 zones = geek paradise Edited December 12, 2016 by markchenhalls
markchenhalls
The additional benefit of having 8+ zones is that a new function (such as dictionary look up) can be displayed in the same location on the screen Not having a lot of zones assigned to specific locations on the workspace can mean that every time a new function is needed, a new zone is created and the existing zones are moved around, and then moved back when the new function is closed, which can be disorienting. An additional benefit is that the same workspace can support multiple tabs One tab can have 8+ zones for complex research, while a different tab in the same workspace can be set to only a few zones for devotional reading Some may choose to access everything via multiple workspaces on separate monitors Some may choose to open functions only as needed Some may choose to have one workspace with multiple tabs The options within Accordance are fantastic
