Syntax type changes when you move a syntax tab to a new pane

Hi ya,

  Acc 12.0.2

  Mac 10.11.6

I was trying to do a two-tab search (where you have two syntax searches and <OR> them together. I was using ETCBC. The way I often do this is to move the new tab beside the existing one and copy and paste the first search to the second and make relevant modifications and then move it back to be a tab stacked in the same pane as the first one. That way I have enough space to read the results easily. However when I move the tab back to the first zone the syntax model switches from ETCBC to Holmstedt.  Then I get an error saying that the search is not compatible with the ETCBC text I'm using. So then I switch the syntax model back to ETCBC and the search is erased from the construct window ! Ooops.

I think not resetting the syntax model on tab moves is the simplest and most convenient way for this to work.

Thx

D

Daniel, I can't reproduce this.  Just made multiple ETCBC tabs, moved them around, copied between them, and it never changed back to Holmstedt.

I'll retest next week and get back to you.

Hey Joel,  Sorry for the delay. Ok so this only happens if I have the default preference for syntax set to Holmstedt. If it's set to ETCBC then I can move them around and it does not change.

Thx
