Research using Info Pane Topics

Two of my favorite Accordance functions are the Info Pane and Research. I have often used the click on a Topic within the Info Pane to bring up the dictionary and then browse through the library of dictionaries taking advantage of the new behavior of version 12. Very nice. I decided to try to Research an Info Pane Topic with the idea that this could accomplish what I was doing  with fewer clicks. The results were fascinating. Using the default setup at Genesis 1.1, I found that the Topics Beginning, God, Omnipotence, Time, and Pentateuch gave expected results in both dictionary and commentary researches. However Creation, Earth, Gods, and Heavens gave a different result. For the second set of Topics, the left side of the Research results window shows the results expected, but the right side of the window that should show the text of the findings was empty. Now the surprise—if in the Research search line is replaced with Creation, the left side list of hits does not change, but the missing text does pop up on the right side. Very cool to watch!

I don't know if Research was meant to be used with the Info Pane Topics, but it is almost there if it wasn't planned. If it was planned to work, there appears to be a subtle issue with the results.

Have fun experimenting!
