Rodney
I am trying to do a simple construct search in the New Testament. The parameters I set in this specific case are as follows: Agree <Strongs Number> Column 1 Column 2 law G3551 I am searching both ways, it ends up the same if I do or don't. When I run the search the first verse I get with a match is John 7:19. I should get about 14 earlier verses. I have had this same issue with a few other simple searches in the New Testament. Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong?
Joel Brown
Rodney, what are you trying to search for? If you are simply trying to find when law was translated from G3551, you don't need a construct, you can just do an entry search for law@[KEY G3551]. This can also be accomplished in the construct, but you'll want to set it up differently. In the construct, each column represents one (distinct) word. The way you've defined your construct is involving two columns, thus two words. You want them to agree on key number. Thus, you are asking for verses that contain two words with G3551, where the first word is law. If you look at John 7:19, G3551 does occur twice, and the first instance (and second, unrelatedly) is 'law'. Since each column represents one word, you'll want to stack the two elements in a single column to accomplish the same thing as the aforementioned entry box: I hope this helps!
