Ken Simpson
While helping out on another topic looking for variant spellings of words in JDC I came across this strangeness that I would love some insight into. searching for timh@-“?im*” works nicely but when I changed it slightly to timh@-“*im*” the search failed with not found. I think I know why this is happening. but I experimented timh@-“??im*” failed - not found timh@-“???im*” worked but found exactly the same hits as timh@-“?im*” timh@-“????im*” failed - not found While I expected ??im*” and “????im*” (depending on the actual inflected forms in the corpus, I was surprised that “???im*” worked but seemingly found the wrong hits. All those searches worked fine as non-negated items so I am sure I am not getting my head around the boolean logic. The more I think about this the less it feels like a bug in Accordance and more like a bug in me. Thanks for insights.
Λύχνις Δαν
These results are possible in theory but it will depend upon the attested forms of timh. Do you have a complete list ? I don't have the JDC. Thx D
