User Bible Import Error Message—Too Many ¶

I am importing a User Bible and get an error message about Too Many ¶ markers. See the attached screen shot.

This was a long and difficult task. Is there any way around this limitation?

I can import the both Old Testament and the New Testament individually, so I am certain there are no other problems.

Please, please help!

Kindest...

Bill

I've never really gotten to the bottom of why this happens. I have seen it before and there are other reports of it in the forums. What version of Acc are you on ?

This link may be of help  https://www.accordancebible.com/forums/topic/2056-import-of-user-bible-reports-too-many-paragraphs/?do=findComment&comment=7845. I'd not found it previously - it's the first actual numerical value of the limit that I've seen. It's an older post now so I do not know if it still holds true.

Thx

D

This was not the only one post. Later there was also one ca. 2015. This issue has addressed in 11.0.7 since then I had no problem to import User Bibles since then with this trouble. Even the Bibles which Accordance had complained before works now.

Thanx Fabian. I knew I had not seen it in a while which is why I wondered about Bill's version. But then I don't import UBs all that often.

Yes the wondering about the version of Bill's Accordance was also my first question. And as I saw your wrote about it. There was no need to do it again.

I'm using Accordance 12.0.3.

There were 19,284 paragraph markers (¶) in the Old Testament and everything imported fine. There were 3116 in the New Testament and it imported fine as well independent of the Old Testmant, but when I combined them there were 22,400 paragraph markers and it would not import.

I designed a work around by replace  some of the paragraph markers (¶) with two html breaks (<br><br>) and got everything to import.

It is a long single author translation designed to be read aloud and retains a Hebraic thought process with many line breaks. We are going have it converted into an Accordance Exchange Module as soon as all the proofing and spell checking is finished. In the meantime you can download pdf's on individual books here: http://amarel.com.

I was able to make it work but it took quite of bit of effort to break through.

Kudos to Accordance for the User Bible Input. It is of great help to be able to do this...

Hi Nelson

How I wrote you in a PM I'm still interested in this User Bible.

I found out that Bibles had often paragraph marks, because they hadn't the ability in another software to show it as separate verses which we have in Accordance. But here it seems not to be the case. so it would be good to increase it.

Fabian,

We are working on finishing up the translation which we are calling S4S Scriptures (Seekers for Scriptures).  The first generation proofing work is going on now and we hope to have it finished by the end of March. We will get it up on the Accordance Exchange as soon as possible after that. I will send you a PM when it is ready.
