Old device Licences

I had two computers stolen a few month back, and that raised a few questions in my mind. Can I see which devices I currently have registered to my 5 device limit for my personal license? Can I remove a device from that list of devices?

Hi Luke, not in the system we use. Just drop support an email and ask them to reset your devices, and then when you next log in using what you have they will be registered against your name and will be a fresh count against the 5 device limit.

  • 2 weeks later...

Is there a way to "unauthorize" Accordance on a computer before I get rid of it? I am ready to upgrade to new Macs whenever Apple decides to release some new desktop units (I hope I am still alive by then).

deleting the app should be enough since in general Accordance doesn't restrict anything in practice (a flag would be hit saying 100 people were logged in at once (may be raised on a lower number than that but giving an example)), but if there showed 7 were active at once it would still function normally, we have been told it is more or less an honour system... Now your reporting the fact that 2 people may have gained access is good but in all likelihood I would bet the drive would be wiped and machine sold off or also possible broken down into parts and sold. Uninstalling by deleting the app and accordance support folder before giving or selling your computer should be enough...

Deleting the app is definitely not enough to prevent a new owner of the computer from installing and using your Accordance! On a PC you would do a complete Uninstall. On Mac you must remove not only the application but the following folders which are in the invisible user/Library:

Application Support/Accordance

Application Support/Preferences/Accordance Preferences

Agreed, this will not reset the activation count, but is is the right thing to do, unless you simply wipe the hard drive and reinstall the system when you pass the computer on to another user.
