A. Smith
Sometimes the library opens as it's own zone and moves the other panes to make room. Sometimes it comes in as a 'layer' over them. I can't see any reason as to why it should act two different ways. Any help? btw, this is two different workspaces and it acts consistently within the workspace, just different from one to the other. FWIW, I like the 'overlay' better.
Paul Meiklejohn
Anthony, under prefs / workspaces / 'always show library as a popover' will determine whether its a pane or an overlay. Pressing shift while using the library icon will have the opposite effect of your settings. Edited March 8, 2017 by Paul Meiklejohn

Fabian
With my 13" screen I use the pop-over. Only I want to have the "i" then I open it with pressed shift. I usually open the library with alt-cmd-1 and since the focus is on the search, you can write what you want, e.g. HMT press enter and the library goes to the background. But thats written in the Help Files. Edited March 8, 2017 by Fabian
