English Gloss - divided from Lexical Word in analysis?

Hello

I'm attempting to make some flash cards with lower number occurrences in the Greek texts.

When I bring up the words using the analysis I can either select with or without English Gloss. For instance:

        ἁγνός    pure
        ἀγωνίζομαι    to strive, fight, struggle
        ἀδόκιμος    unqualified, worthless, disreputable; unacceptable
        αἰνέω    to praise
        ἅλας    salt
        ἄμωμος    blameless, spotless
        ἀναγκαῖος    necessary

However, this means if I copy and paste into a spreadsheet - it is a single column. As there is no special delineation such as "=" , there isn't an easy way to separate  (that I have found...)

Is there an easy way to divide the word and its gloss? Either in the analysis or a spreadsheet?

Also, while I am here - is it possible to add the full lexical form to nouns  :) ?

ῥάβδος, -ου, ἡ

Thanks!

It will depend how you do the paste. If you paste into a spreadsheet as plain text you'll very likely get just one column. If you paste special or save it to a text file and then import it you can usually specify a delimiter to bust the string up into fields and each field will got a separate column. Spreadsheets vary in their exact capabilities and procedure so it will help if you can say which you are using. And I think you'll find that they are tab delimited in the Analysis display. You can save the analysis as a file and then just process the file with scripts and the delimiter is a tab - I just checked.

As to putting the lexical information in, you certainly can, but the parsing of each line becomes more complex. I've written Applescript to do this and Python to import flashcards into various programs. There are some examples on the Accordance Exchange.

Thanks for getting back to me! I was using Excel. Tried it in Numbers and it works fine.  (I forget that Microsoft and Accordance aren't the best of friends in copy/paste world sometimes. ;) )

I do recall trying those exchange files but they are for older versions. They don't seem to run anymore in 12.

Where are you grabbing the lexical data from? The main place I am getting the full information (genative and article) is from BDAG.

Ah, I'll have to look at those scripts again. I figured they would break eventually.

I now see what you mean by 'full lexical form'. That's much harder to automate. So I misled you there by failing to understand fully - sorry. I am guessing you are patching this together manually. Is that so ? You can readily get the gender by customizing the analysis tab display but the declension info is harder to get. I don't know an easy way to get that out of Acc.

Thx

Apologies missed your reply here!

Yes I am using BDAG to grab the full lexical form. Very manual

It's not the end of the world but it certainly would be helpful to access that information.
