Journal Articles

It having been many years (before the dominance of the internet) since I was familiar with the preferred way to find and access journal articles, and In order to properly evaluate the current sale on a package of theological journals:

1. Is the current set comprehensive enough to encompass all the most important journals for biblical studies?

2. Is there an independent, internet-accessible database of nearly all such journals?

3. Assuming the answer to (2) is "yes," what does it typically cost to purchase individual journal articles?

Thanks for any help you can give.

With less than 4 hours until the end of the sale, I will just comment that:

  1. The TJL consists of evangelical journals. It includes a wide range and many years of these, but not journals that fall outside that theological spectrum. The TJL is available online by subscription from Galaxie software.
  2. There is no comparison between the functionality of the journals in Accordance and any other platform. The speed and ease with which you can find articles on topics or passages is simply unmatched.

When version 17 is released there undoubtedly will be upgrades as you see there are upgrades from previous versions now. I dove into the deep end of the pool and felt a bit overwhelmed... Reading one of the articles on the flood made me question the wisdom in buying it as it was so strident and left me shaking my head metaphorically (I actually read 2 of the 3 I was interested in the second again more conservative than me was at least fairly written)... That said I looked at many other artless and have been delighted. While Semeia and JBL are more my cup of tea I know I will find a lot of useful items in this massive set. For the life of me I just wish JBL would release further back as it had an article on the Flood in issue 78 I would love to have checked out... but such is life...
