Fabian
Hello If I use the Accordance font in Word or Pages for only a few words (can be Greek, Hebrew or Latin it doesn't matter), then I got 3 strange issues. This is also true if I use it in Accordance if I set the Accordance font in compare to Helvetica Neue. 1. The characters are smaller than the other ones with the same dots. 2. The space above the word increases 3. The space below the word increases Here from Word normal: Now with one word in the Accordance font (5th line 3rd word): Greetings Fabian
Joel Brown
Fabian, we are aware of the extra line spacing, and we are working on improving that in the font. I'm not sure the font size is that different, however. If you compare it with another serif font, such as Times New Roman, I believe you'll find the sizes to be a lot closer. Fabian
Thanks for the attention. I found out that this doesn't happen in the www.papyrus.de writing application. The sample above is more to give you an idea of what I talked about. Greetings Fabian Edited May 9, 2017 by Fabian
Fabian
Here is an image from the Accordance with the Accordance font. If it has a spiritus lenis and an uppercase character there a bigger space. See Ἰησοῦ. Greetings Fabian
Fabian
Still in 12.1. You can see it also in the preview Helvetica Neue vs. Accordance . Greetings Fabian
Alistair
Surely a carefully designed typeface will take into consideration subscripts, superscripts, accents, punctuation etc without affecting the leading or line height?
Alistair
On the subject of fonts, there is still the matter with the vertical line spacing or leading with the first lines of paragrahs. I can illustrate this with an image taken from the MacArthur NT commentary. My highlighting emphasises the difference in the heights/spacing/leading of the first line and the second line of the paragraph. No matter what font I choose, the problem remains, in this and in many other modules. No matter what value I choose to set the line spacing, the problem remains. The difference must have been coded into these modules. The first line appears to have been set with the same leading as the previous paragraph, in this case the word "Preface." I suggest you check the style sheets in whatever program you used to create the modules.
Fabian
Even on the Accordance modules has the lines with the Hebrew letters more spaces. Greetings Fabian
Fabian
Fabian, we are aware of the extra line spacing, and we are working on improving that in the font. I'm not sure the font size is that different, however. If you compare it with another serif font, such as Times New Roman, I believe you'll find the sizes to be a lot closer. I don't know why you make an ad for this font? For me the Accordance Font is still useless. The extra line spacing kills the ability to use it. Also the Qur'an-T with the Accordance font has to much line spacing which is not needed. Greetings Fabian Edited January 7, 2018 by Fabian
