Export Biblical Text with Verse Numbers Only, No Chapter Or Book Reference

Is it possible to control the export of a biblical text (using Get Verses) so that if an entire book is exported, the book name and chapter number aren't shown for each individual verse?

 

If I export an entire book to Word, for example, I want the name of the book at the top, the number of the chapters at the top of each chapter, and then verses within each chapter to show only the verse number.

 

I don't relish the tedious work of changing each verse reference to conform to what I need.

 

I've looked into Citation Format and Get Verse and experimented with the options there, but have yet to see a way to accomplish this.

I just copy and paste, but that is typically for one or two chapters. That way you only get the verse number with the chapter periodically if you have it set to paragraphon display.

 

Alternatively, a quick way to remove the Chapter numbers is using some of the advanced settings in the replace command in word, takes some experimenting but is actually quite a powerful tool for removing part of text strings.

Hmm.. I am thinking in terms of exporting entire books (currently 1 Timothy). When I adjust my "in Accordance" text preferences, then copy and paste into Word as plain text, I am now able to paste with only verse numbers, but I'm still getting the reference letters or numbers when there is some sort of note in the ESV (or whatever text I am using).

 

Anyway, I'm open to all advice.

Unfortunately not on my mac at present so cant check (plus my last version of mac word isnt as good as windows, for example no control spacebar equivalent and some of the styles options are not there, havent upgraded to latest), if you just select one of the superscript letters, does it show as a specific style in the styles pallet? (They usually change highlight away from "normal"? If yes, you can replace the style so remove them by a replace command, if no, it needs some experimenting (and thought). Havent played with these bits of word for several years so a bit rusty.

Bingo (an American expression for a solution that hits the mark).

 

I select a superscript, click on the Selection panel, select "all that match formatting," and hit the delete key. Works like a charm. Thanks again.
