Emanuel Cardona Posted June 16, 2017 Share Posted June 16, 2017 (edited) Is there a way to export say a text that I am working on in Accordance to a PDF reader app like GoodReader or the like with minimum steps so that I can annotate using an Apple Pencil? It will be extremely convenient to use the Apple Pencil to underline, circle, etc. without having to leave Accordance at all. R. Mansfield Posted June 16, 2017 Share Posted June 16, 2017 You could copy and paste the content into any iOS app that can receive it and export to a PDF (such as Pages or Word). Then open that document in GoodReader for annotation. I haven't heard of any plans to create this kind of freehand annotation directly in Accordance Mobile. It would be a great feature, but it would also be complex. The freehand annotations would have to adapt based on any changes later made to column width, changes in typeface and size, leading, etc. iOS 11 will bring some handy annotation features to screenshots. I have not installed the iOS 11 beta on my iPad Pro because currently there are some incompatibility issues with biblical languages, but I did install it on my iPhone. iOS 11 allows you to take any screenshot and make annotations that can be saved or sent to others. It does it without directly leaving the application. That is, when you've completed your annotations and decided what you want to do with the screenshot, you're taken right back to the app. Here's a quick screenshot of that from Accordance Mobile on my iPhone 7 Plus. Obviously, the Apple Pencil does not work with the iPhone, so I just did this with my finger. Michel Gilbert Posted June 16, 2017 Share Posted June 16, 2017 Hi, Great idea. And on the topic of iOS pdf apps, I have GoodReader, and you can do some amazing things with it. But, in case someone doesn't know, PDF Expert recently added actual text editing features to their app - and yes, it does work with English, German, and Greek (and I would guess any ltr Unicode script; it doesn't work with Hebrew consonants and vowels yet, only consonants). So, if you save to pdf, you can actually edit in PDF Expert, even including new line breaks. I haven't tried with scanned texts yet. Michel Gilbert Posted June 16, 2017 Share Posted June 16, 2017 You can do something like this in iOS today. I made a pdf text with a filler word and named it "Blank." I opened it in PDF Expert, selected the filler word and deleted it, and copied and pasted some of the GNT from Acc into it. It worked flawlessly and I could edit it. Hebrew also pasted flawlessly, and I could edit it correctly. I guess editing Hebrew depends on how the vowels were entered in specific texts. But pasting from Acc worked. So I would presume you could copy and paste almost everything from Accordance into PDF Expert and be able to edit it.
