Couldnt find any illustrations/artists impressions in my limited resources (but came across this table in the esv study bible, serendipity of what a search brings up so thank you).

Hopefully those with larger graphics packages will be able to help.

A few, none of them great. One is in Bible Art. The other is in ZEB, which is a mosaic of an early church depiction of it.

Try clicking on this link: accord://research/[Graphics_Tools];Image?ark_<AND>_Noah

Hmmm...., the link isn't working. OK, just use Research, select Graphics Tools, Image, and search for ark <AND> noah

Looks like there is also one in the NIV Zondervan Study Bible. Basically clip-art like to demonstrate the scale.

Dr j, i remember you doing a podcast on carta resources when they first came to accordance and there were lots of illustrations in the pod cast. Im surprised they didnt have any.

I have to admit that these days i just do a google images search and then look for large file sizes, particularly where there isnt going to be a photo and so many different artists have depicted it.

Running an image search for the same query in All Tools gets a few more images, too.

Searching for just ark will find captions that include that word without Noah, but you'll have to wade through every image of the Ark of the Covenant, too.

Me, too! ;-)

That's the way I typically like to start my morning--and with Lucy Mae at my side. I wonder if there were a pair of basset hounds on that ark?

Perhaps the idea of animals as a pets started on the ark, or at least it was embraced by all of humanity at that time.

I saw a documentary, Dogs: the Untold Stories, that said dogs as pets are primarily a luxury that began in modern times (as in the last century or so). Before that dogs had specific working purposes. However, I have a feeling that's not an absolute. Tobit's dog--which seems to be following behind on his own accord as opposed to being brought along for protection (Tob 6:2; 11:4)--seems to act like a pet. And although not a dog, the lamb in 2 Sam 12:1–4 certainly seems to be a household pet.

Another option: Google image search for "Ark Encounter."

I guess they pitched their idea in a different sense than in the Bible.

Edit: We've all probably heard that joke about the first mention of baseball in the Bible, "In the beginning/big inning;" now we can add, "Noah threw the first pitch."

Holman Christian Standard Bible Study Bible has a really nice coloured wood cut... but the hands down winner for me is the late medieval one I located in BAR (even if most unrealistic):
