On Windows 10:

I had troubles with 12.1.2.1 crashing and not allowing for Analytics to work, so I reverted back to 12.0.6.

Just installed this new version, and it seems to work... Analytics works, copying text works...

BUT I'm trying to create some training helps for my students. When I take a screenshot, Accordance must be doing something to the memory. Image won't copy, and after I try an image copy, textual copy no longer works either. Trying to copy will cause Powerpoint to create a message to save/close the program. It will crash Word or Wordpad if I try to paste into those programs.

Once I quit Accordance, then the copy/paste works again.

This is extremely frustrating... going back to 12.0.6 again.

Hey, this is interesting. These past few days I noticed this problem too, but I attributed it to the operating system; I didn't think Accordance had anything to do with it, but now that you mention this, the cut/copy-paste issues did occur while Accordance was open...

Yes, I could confirm now: even with v12.1.3, Accordance still causes a clipboard issue in Windows 10 which affects other programs.

We apologize for the issue with the print screen command. This bug has been reported and will be fixed in the next update.

Yes, but it's not just the print screen. As long as Accordance is open, at times I could not even copy-paste texts from within the same Word document, or even in Notepad++.

I also can't copy and paste in various programs including Notepad ++ when Accordance is open.

I can make the copy/paste lock up when I use print screen with Accordance, but as others have noted, it sometimes will lock up just doing normal copy/paste of text.

The bug on Windows has been identified, and we'll get a fix out for it ASAP.

I believe 12.1.3.1 is now live (Windows only) with this bug fix.  Many apologies for the hassles, but hopefully this is a good stable version for a while.

Hi,

The reason for your crash has to do with Dropbox sync.  I am assuming that you have it set to automatically sync - since you get the crash at odd times.

You may be able to generate the crash at will if you select Utilities -> Sync with Dropbox...

If it does crash, would you mind pressing Ctrl+Alt when selecting Utilities -> Sync with Dropbox... ?  This will generate a 'debug Information' file that you could fine at:   C:\Users\YOUR NAME\Documents\Accordance Files.

Please pm me that file.

Thank you

That makes sense, and I do have automatic sync... I just forced the sync, and it worked fine. No crash. I'll keep an eye on it. Thanks.

AAAH! It was Accordance the whole time!

I was pointing fingers at TeamViewer, Evernote, Windows update - all I can say is phew!

Thanks for finding and sorting it.

Still using 12.1.3.1. Closed the program last night and put computer into hibernation.

When I started it this morning it froze in that the splash screen could not be removed. (Accordance was running behind it, but the splash screen obscured the program.)

It required killing Accordance in Task Manager. Restarted successfully a few times since then .

Now working on my home computer, also Win 10.

I had opened a new Workspace to run a Greek construct search.

I tried dragging a text tab from that workspace back into my original workspace, and it caused a crash. Here's the log:

Why does the crash report always say: "Access violation "?

Thanks!

It's what would be reported on Linux/*nix as a SEGV - a segmentation violation. It basically means that an attempt was made to access a memory location which the program does not have access to. If I'm reading the trace correctly the offending address is 0. This is very commonly completely invalid for user code to access on modern OSs. Curiously it appears in the stack backtrace which is very odd to me but then I'm not a Windows developer.

Thx

D

Mark,

1. Please start a new entry for new bugs - it will be easier for other users to find.

2. I cannot duplicate this one or the previous crash you reported, and I suspect that I do not follow your steps correctly.

It will be great if you could show me what you do to generate this crash using Team Viewer.

You can PM me when you have time to do that.

Just crashed again when I was switching away from Accordance to my browser. I'll start a new thread. If I can ever cause a repeatable crash, I'll use TeamViewer to let you see what's going on.
