Michel Gilbert
Hi, I was just reading NIGCT, Revelation. On p. 181, it says, "v 1 is best understood from examination of the following phrase, δεῖξαι . . . ἂ δεῖ γενέσθαι (“to show . . . what must come to pass”), which, together with ἐν τάχει (“quickly”), is derived from Dan. 2:28–29, 45 (as discussed above, pp. 152–53)." Now, I wanted to quickly go to pp. 152-153 to check this out. There is no link to it. Scrolling takes a while, especially on the iPad. So, I tried a search. If I search for Page Numbers, type in 152, and press enter, it goes to Matt. p. 152, etc., and it takes 12 Hit clicks to reach Rev. p 152. First, am I missing something, is there a faster way? And if there isn't, shouldn't there be? This takes about 1-2 seconds with a paper book, and about 8 seconds for 3 clicks, typing 152, and 12 more clicks. Even Kindle has links to pages above, below, etc. Is this the norm in Acc for see above, below, etc.? If so, I'll post a feature request. Thanks. ukfraser
Michel, i would report this as a correction. (Within ipad, Highlight error, share and email to corrections@accordancebible.com) The accordance team are very good at putting in links within works. Sometimes the links are incorrect which are definitely a correction. As references are usually linked within accordance so my gues is this is something that has slipped through the net and needs correcting.
Michel Gilbert
Hi Fraser, I checked, and it is a systemic problem in the NIGTC. I looked up "as discussed," getting hits like "as discussed at supply verse." The verse is underlined, highlighted, and there is a link to the verse, but not to the actual place the author is referring to, i.e., to the comments on that verse in his commentary. There are approximately 22 of these in Matthew. I didn't keep checking. So are you saying that if I read a commentary in Acc, I should expect to spend a lot of time reporting corrections like this, and even looking up the pages for them? Is this your experience reading commentaries in Acc, or, if anyone else reads this, it is is it their experience? Or, is it limited to a few sets only? ukfraser
In the torah commentary, there are three links on this page alone and they all work.. I just highlight like this and send it, but if you have found a lot, make a note in the email text highlighting its a common occurence. There was one instance where i found a trend.
