Parallels

Greetings Accordance family,

I need some help with the parallels option. When I open for example "Gospel Parallels" there is no option to add the context to the scriptures shown. I see the option to "add text" but I could swear there use to be an option to add the context of scripture to the passage shown in times past. It may have been 3 or 4 years ago but I thought you use to be able to add the context of the rest of the scripture to the parallels passage shown?

Other wise what would be the solution to being able to open a work space or what ever and add parallels to look at different areas of scripture? I tried opening a workspace with a scripture text then clicking the "add parallel" button on the right for several text panes then using the "untie" to allow me to go to different areas in the bible. This looked sweet and was very streamline. I thought I could now open several areas of scripture for study in one window. But my hopes came tumbling down because when you quit accordance and reopen, it does not remember where you are in the different parallel panes.

Thanks for your thoughts

Marco

Did you save this workspace you created? You will be able to open it in the future so name it something sensible is important and not just save with default name. Over time i have created a number of workspaces depending on what i am doing.

There is also a setting in preference to open last session and that will then let accordance open and remember what you were doing.

Can be annoying if you have moved to a new project but great if you are spending some time on a particular project or have a default project you usually want to open.

That was a good idea. I tried it and it still default to Genesis though.

Thanks.

Strange

I have created tabs and separate windows and all are opening where I left them. Is this what you are after?

Its only when I create parralells in the same window and unscroll them that the additional windows revert to genesis though the main one remains where I set it

How are you adding a tab? When I do it I am not able to see both at the same time.

To add a tab click the plus beside the tab (as you can see in the left most window which has three tabs). But i think you want to add a window. Others may have a better way but i opened a general tool (such as the atlas of european reformation which then allowed me to add a bible text, closed the atlas. Opened the atlas again giving me a third window, opened another bible text and closed the atlas again. That way you can have three bibles all independent.

;o)

Very nice, I finally figured it out. That is a nice work around until maybe they allow you to add text context to the parallel thing.

Thank you very much. I'm blessed.

  • 5 weeks later...

Another way to create a separate bible in a pane is to add a tab with the + for the bible you want then just drag that tab to the side and it will change it to a separate pane.
