Odd two-and-a-half click selection behaviour

When I double-click a word to select it (one and a half clicks to be exact), and then drag the mouse down the screen, it selects the paragraph of that first word and subsequent paragraphs.

 

But when I triple-click the word (two and a half clicks to be exact) and drag the mouse down, it also selects the entirety of the preceding paragraph as well.

 

Is this normal? It was in a Study Bible module, it doesn't do that with Bible text modules AFAIK
