Steve King
I have a user tool that I update regularly with quotations. Recently it began to crash on occasion when I opened it for editing. After trying this a few times I found that it depended where I was trying to edit. So without going into edit I scrolled through the tool to see if I could spot what might be causing the problem and then suddenly it would cause Accordance to crash with the log shown at the end of this topic. I managed to restore to a previous version which did not crash and then began to re-apply the changes that had been made. After applying updates it then began to crash again. The areas that appeared to be causing the crash were not ones that I had updated. So I restored again. And went through the process again but applied the changes gradually checking for the crash every so often. Again I got the crash. In the 'non-crashing' version I reviewed the section that seemed to be causing the problem and the only thing that was 'unusual' about it was that it had some tab characters in it. So I removed the tabs and began to reapply the updates on a gradual basis and checked for crashes. There was actually a second section that caused the same problem and that also had a tab in it so I removed that tab as well. Eventually I was able to apply all the updates without causing Accordance to crash when displaying the areas that seemed to be causing the original problem. So it possibly seems that in some way the paragraphs with a tab character were getting corrupted even though they had not actually been updated. The log is below and I have copies of the user tool which have the corrupt sections in it you need to review.
