New Skype woes (non-Accordance)

I regularly click on an icon in the toolbar on the left side of the window--such as to search for a contact, and the entire window goes blue. I have to restart Skype to get it to work again. Anyone else having this issue and know of a solution? 

 

I found a thread of others experiencing this on Microsoft's forums but no solutions.
