User Notes Problem

So it looks like one of my user notes files got corrupted - crazy fonts, notes spanning multiple verses that used to be in just one verse, etc. I think this happened on a dropbox sync between my two macs. Any way to roll back to an earlier version of notes before that sync happened and fix the two Macs so they both have the correct version, or at least a version that wasn't corrupted? I can think of a couple ways I might do this using Dropbox features, but I was wondering if there was some best practice guidance before I dive in myself. Thanks.

The state prior to syncs is not saved, so I think Dropbox and/or Time Machine are your best bets for a User Note restore.

Thanks, Joel. I rolled it back using Dropbox. Does Documents in iCloud syncing across computers have any adverse effects on Accordance syncing user notes files? My user items are stored in my Documents folder. Would it be better to turn off Dropbox sync in Accordance and let iCloud handle that file between my two Macs? But then it wouldn't sync to my Accordance app on iOS, I suppose. Any thoughts?

Robb,

Desktop Accordance is not a client of iCloud syncing and I don’t think it is setup to handle all syncing scenarios. (e.g. If you were editing a User Note and iCloud synced the Documents folder behind the scenes)

If you want to use iCloud Document folder syncing, then we recommend that you move your Accordance Files folder to a different parent folder. Let us know if you need help with this.

Mike, yes, please let me know the best way to move my Accordance folder to a new parent folder. I think Dropbox and iCloud are not playing nice, which is messing up my notes. I have the Accordance folder in a synced via iCloud Documents folder on two Macs, so removing it on one will remove it on both. Thanks.

Robb,

Sorry about the delay, I forgot to respond.

To move the Accordance Files folder:

  1. Quit Accordance
  2. Move the Accordance Files folder in the Finder
  3. Start Accordance and you will be directed to locate the Accordance Files new parent folder.

I tried this out in v12 and Accordance still supports this. Let us know if it works for you.
