Differences? New Dictionary of Biblical Theology vs. New Dictionary of Theology

HI All. I have both of these dictionaries but I'm not sure what the difference is or when you would want to use one over the other? I tried to Google the comparison but can't seem to find anything.

 

I do see that the organization seems different and the New Dictionary of Biblical Theology is newer (2000 vs 1988), and the product description for the former says "it fills the interpretive space between those volumes [New Bible Dictionary and New Bible Commentary] and the New Dictionary of Theology", but I don't really know what that means...

 

Anyway, if someone could help me to understand this it would be great!

Theology (with no other descriptor) can be seen as as something general or more usually as in systematic theology. Biblical theology is a specific kind of theology concerned the theology of a book of the Bible or one testament to the exclusion of the other, or even a particular writer. Pauline theology would be a subset of biblical theology.
