Meaning of "Reciprocal" in Cross-References

You know, I'm finally getting around to asking this. When looking at Cross References in the Info Pane what exactly does "reciprocal" mean and what causes a cross-reference verse to land there? I tried typing "reciprocal" in the online help system but there is no reference found for it... probably because everyone already knows it! Can someone explain? Thanks! Steve

If you open up the Treasury of Scripture Knowledge Cross References directly from your library and navigate to the beginning if you are not already there you will read in the Introduction:

By reciprocal references, we mean references that mutually refer to each other.

Morton, Timothy S. Treasury of Scripture Knowledge, Enhanced and Expanded. Accordance electronic edition, version 1.1. www.bibleanalyzer.com, 2010.

https://accordance.bible/link/read/Treasury_Enhanced#23

Basically, I take it as these entries refer back to each other.

Good question! If I take john 1:1 the ref's are somewhat random, ranging from the lampstand in the tabernacle to the supremacy of Christ and even referencing salvation and sanctification. There seems to be no systematic chain of reference.

P.S. Thank you Michael for your response...

If you open up the actual module in its own pane, the reciprocal verses are divided into clearer headings.  Pity those headings don't carry over to the info-pane.

Ahhh... OK. Thanks for both responses. The fog is lifting...

Yes the reciprocal references are indicating verses that reference the current verse.

So if you are currently looking at Gen 3:7 it has a reciprocal of Gen 3:21. So Gen 3:21 has a 'proper' reference to Gen 3:7.
