Searching Hebrew Strong Verbs (any stem)

Can anyone point me to a forum post or help me on how to search Accordance (12.2.4) for Hebrew strong verbs?  I want to find verses that contain strong verbs.  The verse can also contain weak verbs, so I don't necessarily need to limit the search to verses that only contain strong verbs.  Any thoughts?

Hi, I loved this question! I am not sure if I have covered all the bases, and I am sure there are some irregulars I have missed, but if we can use the definition that a weak verb is a verb that has a guttural (aleph, ayin, resh, he, heth), or yod or nun or waw in any of the three root positions in a verb, and that any verb that is a geminate (ie that 2nd and 3rd radical are doubled) then we can search for them like this. (and I am very happy to have anyone show me the shortcomings of this).

So, first - search for the weak verbs with the above specified letters anywhere in the root. You use ?(-יונאעהחר-)(-יונאעהחר-)?(-יונאעהחר)@ [VERB] (which all needs to be reversed of course - see the image below.

This will find any word that does not have a guttural, yod or nun or waw somewhere in the stem.

This gives you 5924 hits in 4905 verses with 277 forms

Then do a new search for geminates using [VERB] @???(=2)

Which give 2352 hits in 2073 verses with 184 forms

Then open a 3rd tab with the Heb Bible and search for all the hits from tab 1 but exclude all the hits from tab 2

That will remove all the geminate forms and will leave you with the verses with strong verbs (ie any verb that does not have the guttural, yod or nun or waw somewhere in the stem) or is geminate.

And of course your verses are all in that first window - you could then save that as a verse list - or a workspace so you can tweak it.

Does that get you closer?
