Cursor in user notes should always show?

I notice when typing into user notes (in both v11 and v12 on Windows 7) that the cursor never shows when first typing in a note. If you want to use the keyboard arrows to go back to a part of what was just typed, you don't always know where you are until you start typing. Hopefully you guessed to be in the right spot. If you click inside the note the cursor then appears.

 

It would be nice to have the cursor showing at all times, or at least if there is a reason that it is currently this way, to have the option to show it all the time. Having to do an extra mouse action just to show the cursor seems unnecessary.
