wagnern
Hey there, Lately my Accordance seems to load pretty slow (Windows 10). I have the newest version of Accordance and if it helps my computer is very fast. I'm also not sure if it's the fact that I have a lot of modules. Thoughts? Λύχνις Δαν
When Accordance loads if you load workspaces with existing queries in them it will rerun them as it comes up. That can chew up time depending upon the complexity and number of the queries. I don't know much about performance tuning Acc startup beyond that - for example is there a performance benefit to rebuilding the research cache ? Not sure - if you are running a query on startup in some workspace that is a research query it might help but I don't know. I ran on Win 10, 16GB RAM, SSD with a i7 (might be Kaby Lake can't remember - recent though) so my laptop's pretty quick and I don't usually notice a major start up issue but I do usually start with several workspaces open. Of course general issues like disk fragmentation and general machine performance ought not to be overlooked. Is anything else running on the machine lately that is consuming resource ? Thx D

Thx D Thanks for this. I'll give it a try without restoring previous work. On the other hand, I have always had it reload past work and didn't notice this sluggishness (again though it may be that my modules have increased in the work area, adding to the loading time). I'm running an overclocked Coffee Lake, nvme ssd (evo 960), 16gb ram (overclocked 3200), with a water cooled 290x gpu, so it's impossible that my system is not up to the task! best, Nick
Helen Brown
A lot will depend on the number of modules you are loading in your startup workspace, and especially if you are running searches in them.
Λύχνις Δαν
Nice kit Nick. Indeed the h/w is way more than should be required. So something else is going on. Honestly, I doubt a few more modules would make for a noticeable slow down on kit like you have unless you've been on a major buying spree But I'll be interested in the startup behaviour not restoring the previous state.
