Reference Tools

It would be very helpful to have reference tools, like the DSSB variants, NET notes, etc..., available in the split screen mode. Preferably linked to the main text.

Switching to another screen makes these difficult to use.

Split screen already exists and the NET Notes is available and can be run parallel to the main text. Look for the the icon at the top of the display that looks like :

    _____

    |        |

  ----------

    |        |

    -------

Tap that once and you'll get a second pane and you can open notes and apparatus tools (the 1:1 icon) or texts (the scroll icon) in parallel with the main text.

Thx

When I split the screen. These reference do not appear in the selection list. If I use the library icon to select the reference, even when the screen is split, it changes to a single full screen mode. It changes back to a split screen mode when I choose a biblical text.

In split screen I can choose all of the biblical texts but not references.

Hit the 1:1 icon on the parallel pane and that will switch it's mode and then you should be able to select tools.

Thx

I tried that to see if it makes a difference, but I still cannot select any of the reference tools texts from this window. I am only able to select them by choosing them from the library icon at the top of the screen. When a reference tool text is selected the option to split the screens is not present and the text is full screen.

So I'm guessing this is what you want - please correct me if I'm mistaken :

If that's so then this is odd as this has been working a while.

If you can post a screen shot or compare it with mine it might be easier to see what's what.

Thx

Yes that is what I want, but I cannot find a way to make it work.

In the screen shots I have added brown labels next to the places I tried selecting, and green labels that show the results of what is selected.

In the first example you can see the NET family of texts but no NET notes. In the second example I can select the notes but the resulting screen cannot be split.

The same is true when looking at the DSS variants, BHS apparatus, etc....

Note, the circled 1 to 1 icon can be toggled either way and the same results are obtained. It makes no difference.

Ok so I've annotated your first image to indicate what "should" work. If it doesn't then it sounds like something is broken.

First the scroll icon (in the red circle) : tap once - you can then switch to 1:1 icon. The scroll indicates texts, the 1:1 verse-organized tools.

Second the chain link icon (in the red rectangle) : tap once with cause the chain links to interlink. This indicates that the two panes should scroll in sync by verse. Strictly this is optional for what you need depending upon how you want it to scroll.

Third the module name (red underline) should then present a pull down menu from which you can select tools that can run in parallel.

If this doesn't work then I'm puzzled but would ask what version you are on to start with and what device.

Thx

To follow up on this, here is a visual breakdown of the steps:

1. Tap on the scroll image circled below:

2. Select the 1:1 icon from that list:

3. Then the default reference content will show:

4. To choose another reference content, tap the title in the 2nd pane and select:

This has been behaving since the V1.0 release, famous last words...

I didn't realize I need to use the "scroll" icon.
