Transferring User Notes between Network Computers

Did you copy the file from Accordance Files/User Notes in the Program Files (x86) folder?

I can only suggest that you allow our tech support to assist you. You can send them the file that seems to be empty, and the file that you copied from the former computer, and reference this thread on the forums.

As per Helen Brown's recommendation, I am moving my problem to this forum.

I have saved an Accordance file, which contains User Notes, on one computer and then copied and pasted that file to another computer's hard drive (initially; later I copied them directly to the Accordance Files/User Notes folder) on a network. When I open the file in Accordance, or even without initially starting the Accordance program, the User Notes do not appear. Everything else, including the tabs, is fine.

What can I do to get the User Notes to transfer along with the rest of the saved file? Thank you.

Hi Paul,

I think Helen meant that you would call or email the Oaktree Support team. Basically this sort of issue is a bit trick to work through on the forums and working directly with someone on the phone will likely get you a more rapid solution.

I have copied files from one machine to another as you describe - in my case Mac to PC and it does work. Mostly I've done it with workspaces and User Tools but I've probably done tests with User Notes also at one point. I don't use User Notes much.

What I usually do is save the files and shutdown Acc on the source side. I usually have Accordance down on the destination side and I then copy over the files to the same relative location on the destination side. I then start Acc up and open the file. It can be that Acc does not immediately recognise the new file is present and so you need to navigate to the file in the Accordance Open.. dialog so it can fine it once and open it. You can alternatively navigate to the file in Windows Explorer and double click on it to open it. After that I would expect it to work.

Thx

D

The easiest way is to set up dropbox and sync from the one computer to the other...
