Research—All texts... take out some of the extra space?

A feature I don't find duplicated elsewhere that's very important in my exegesis is the search all texts feature. Just to give me a quick rundown of the options on a verse I'll hit this and see what everybody has done with it.

But there's a ton of white space in there. What if we had the ability to control some of that? Or easier, I can't think of a reason it's there, really, from a user-end standpoint. Why not just tighten it up?

Hi Arnold,

Spent a bit of time pondering this today and would say that I agree with you that in the particular case you describe there is no need for the white space. While I am not an Accordance developer I think the reasoning behind this is that your usage of text compare was probably not what was envisioned for the research tool. Research I find is best used for digging down into a topic accross multiple resources. A custom text comparison workspace is what I would use in your particular case though it has limitations when it comes to comparing the number of texts you have in your library.

As I run Accordance predominantly on a 13inch MacBook Pro (non retina) I to am conscious of the amount of whitespace used. I know that OakTree does listen to its customers just not sure what priority this might have.

I know why the space exists between the title and the text snippet: to provide room for the menu that displays only when we cursor over it. I'm guessing it's more efficient than trying to insert a space when the cursor is present. The space between sources provides some visual relief.

I"m not sure what can be done to redeem such space. That's something a UI specialist would need to consider. I was surprised that the normal "Set Pane Display" is missing from Research panes. We can't currently adjust them, just change the font size.

Yep, that panel is one of my main frustrations, it really does need to be reworked. The same issue occurs when doing Journal searches. If you search for a verse in journal articles, you end up with hundreds of mini snippets of text, but without the journal title, so you really have no idea if each search result is helpfully related to the topic you are researching.

Since this is probably one of my most frequently used search runs, I have to concur.  I have always thought that the space could be better used.
