If you’re asking about this particular translation over others, perhaps a few folks can weigh in. But yes, my question was more about the translation. Also, it does not seem to be tagged so I'm uncertain about how useful it'll be with the research search tab. Mansfield Posted June 18, 2018 Share Posted June 18, 2018 I think the search options available in the Accordance edition will make it extremely useful in Research or standalone study: You can’t do any specialized search in the Kindle version, and as always, Accordance outshines any of our competitors in this category, too. Larry Wing Posted June 18, 2018 Share Posted June 18, 2018 My personal preference is his French translation of 1541 translated by Robert White and published by Banner of Truth Trust (both printed and Kindle versions). Battles and Beveridge translation is from his Latin edition and contains more technical and polemics than the French version. I’ve found the 1541 version easier to read and more “pastoral” in tone which makes sense since this was mid point as he was editing and expanding the Institutes. Also, as I understand it, his 1541 edition was written for the “man/woman in the pew”.
