Adding an option to add a delimiter between verse reference and verse

Would it be possible, or is it already, to add an option to add a delimiter, such as a dash (-), between verse reference and verse. This would make it easier to export the word search findings to excel and separate the verse from it's reference into separate cells  with the paste wizard.

Not sure how to edit this post. What I would like to see is an option to add a (-) separating the verse reference and the verse. So when I copy my hits results to excel, I can reduce the amount of editing since the verse reference and the verse would be in separate columns by using some of the features in Excels Paste wizard. For doing Word studies, this is something that I like about using Blue Letter Bible. I can transfer the results from Blue Letter Bible to Excel in a nice organized manner. I would love to be able to do this via Accordance. If it's already possible, I would like to know how.

As a work around until you get this feature, have you tried pasting into word and doing a find and replace first and adding your own dash? There are some clever advanced features in find and replace so it’s worth experimenting to see if they will cut down your editing time in excel. For example there are two spaces after a reference with book name chapter and verse and superscript verses in the same paragraph only have one space so you can specify two space in one search and run a single number one for each of the superscripts.

 

Ps you get about an hour to edit a post on the forum before it becomes set in stone.

This should be possible to customize in the Preferences -> Citation.  Try adding your marker (-) in the right box under 'Content References'.  There are a few other options you may want to customize to get what you like, but this is a sample Copy As Citation I just assembled:

 

Genesis 1:20- ¶ Then God said, “Let the water swarm with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the expanse of the sky.”

Genesis 1:21- So God created the large sea-creatures and every living creature that moves and swarms in the water, according to their kinds. He also created every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.

Genesis 1:22- So God blessed them, “Be fruitful, multiply, and fill the waters of the seas, and let the birds multiply on the earth.”

 

Genesis 1:23- Evening came and then morning: the fifth day. (Gen 1:20–23 HCSB)

My settings I used are:

 

Text Citation Format Setting:

 

Marker [ " ] [ " ]

Show as: Separate Verses

Copy Text as one block: unchecked

Suppress poetry: Checked

Hide Superscripts: Checked

Scale font size to...: Unchecked

 

Content References

 

Markers [   ]  [ - ]

Show as: Before Verse

 

The rest were unimportant 

 

After copying as a citation, I opened Excel, clicked on the "Paste" tab and selected Text Import Wizard. Make sure Delimited is selected and click Next. Uncheck Space and check Other. Put a - in the box. Click next and then finish.

 

For those who want to do it.
