miketisdell
I am trying to search for all verses where the verb ידע does not occur (to be merged with a MT-LXX window); however if I enter "ידע= <NOT>", I get an error saying an item must precede the <NOT>, if I reverse the order, I get an error saying that <NOT> cannot be at the end. What is the syntax for a simply <NOT> search of the text?
Λύχνις Δαν
Hey Mike, <NOT> requires two operands. * <NOT> =ידע will do what you want. It will find all verses not containing the verb. Thx D
miketisdell
Hey Mike, <NOT> requires two operands. * <NOT> =ידע will do what you want. It will find all verses not containing the verb. Thx D That was mostly correct but I had to change the order i.e. ידע= <NOT> *; note it is painfully slow!
Λύχνις Δαν
Hi Mike, Two things about this. First, pasting RTL search strings into the forum posts always reverses them. If it's complicated I post an image of the search box. Secondly, the search isn't doing what you asked exactly but it's finding the same result. It finds every word in every verse where ידע is not present. For this reason it has a lot of work to do, hence it's lack of zip. thx D
Λύχνις Δαν
I just realised there is a faster way to do the query but it would have to be considered somewhat counter-intuitive. (Have I said before that the forums need more emojis ? ) 1. Open one tab and search for ידע - call the tab Know 2. Open a second tab with no search - call the tab All 3. Open third tab - make sure it's verse search and search for [CONTENTS All] <NOT> [CONTENTS Know] This is semantically doing more what you state in your question. It is also mostly (except for the Know tab) doing verse not word searches. So it's really quick. Thx D
