Based on Amazon reviews the Apollos Commentary on Exodus by T. Desmond Alexander looks to become a must-have for evangelicals who want to be engaged with modern scholarship. Apparently Alexander has made a name for himself as an expert on Exodus.

To experienced users (hands on), if I were to buy another volume or two, on which ones warrant special attention? And why?

Thanks for any comments.

Would anyone who has the interpretation resources set of 7 volumes care to comment on the creed and prophecy volumes specifically? Are they useful?

(Im currently slowly working through a number of books on the foundation of the creeds including

behr nicene faith trilogy, svs

nicea to chalcedon by young, scm

and the stevenson/frend volumes on creeds councils and controversies and a new eusebius, spck.)

So i have a reasonable amount of reading ahead of me (not to mention the with the fathers trilogy which is actually in accordance)

Thanks.

I have only read through in totality Money & Possessions (Interpretation)  by Walter Brueggemann. I was deeply impressed by that volume. I have read sections of a few others but nothing yet from the volume on canon/creeds. The snippet I read from the Prophecy volume seemed to me to be very elucidating and insightful but I did not read all of that work. I am not sure if this has been helpful or not but is all I have to offer.

Looking at the forum member locations over my morning coffee in the garden while it warms up to 30 C (again), a lot!

Yesterday, it was an all-time-record-breaking 108° F where my mother-in-law lives. Unfortunately, that’s where we’re moving in a couple of weeks :-(

Hmm. As I sit here at my computer in San Antonio, TX, about a hundred miles from the Mexican border, it is 106 outside and our air conditioner is on the fritz. Nearly 90 degrees in the house, and that's with fans going. So I guess that it is summer for me! From one well-cooked hunk of meat to a frozen one, greetings!

I hear ya. We moved to San Antonio, already a hot climate, just in time for a record heat wave.
