Mixed Results with Live Click

The new live-click feature is saving me gobs of time as I write. I am, though, experiencing mixed results. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't.

See my two examples taken from the same verse and set with the same parameters. I set the live-click to search only my NA28 and only the book of Mark. I don't know why I would receive an error message.

Thanks!!

Hey, Benjamin, I'm having trouble reproducing this.  I can't tell from your first screenshot - which word in Mark 4:39 fails?  Is it that the same word sometimes works, sometimes doesn't, or does it vary word by word?

Thanks for the quick reply, Joel!

Here are more screenshots. I am also having trouble with ἐφοβήθησαν in Mark 4:41 (see attached). It appears random and happens in most verses.

Thanks for the additional screenshots.  Unfortunately, even with your exact same Live Click settings, I cannot reproduce the issue.  ἐφοβήθησαν in Mark 4:41 works just fine for me.  Some questions:

1) What all items are in your GNT user group?

2) Does the search fail every single time for ἐφοβήθησαν?

3) Does it make a difference if you keep your Live Click zone open vs. closing it each time?

4) Are you taking any other actions once the Live Click is open, such as tying, linking, analytics, etc?

Thanks!

Joel,

1) only NA28 is listed in the GNT user group.

2) The search fails every time.

3) It doesn't make any difference if I leave it open.

4) I'm not taking any other actions.

I created a movie and posted it on Dropbox here

Thanks!!!

Thanks for the answers; unfortunately I still can't figure out why its not working for you.

Have you tried rebuilding your research cache?  Its an option in Preferences -> Reading/Research. If it is cached oddly, that could prevent certain results.

I believe rebuilding the cache did it, Joel! I'll keep that in mind going forward. Thanks for your help!

One more quick question, Joel: is there any way to enable live-click to search a specific corpus (e.g., the Gospels)? I know I can search "current book" or the entire text, but with about a corpus within the text?

I'm not aware of an easy way to do this, sorry!  You'd have to adjust the range yourself after the click.

Sounds like a forthcoming feature request! Thanks for your quick reply!

I tried rebuilding the cache, but it may have corrected change my issue as well.  I would be using the NIV2011 and would click on a name, say , which is probably similar.  If I am in Matthew and click on a word like, say Zerubbabel, and the window may not open.  But, if I tried another word, the window may open, and then everything would work, once the window was open.
