Why search doesn't produce accurate results?

Does anyone know why a simple search of "self-control*" (without quotes) doesn't bring up "self- control" and "self-controlled" in the NIV? Instead it brings up the dialog box that says the selected word can not be found in the text.

Seems like the use of the * would bring up all occurrences of the (hyphenated) word. Typing self-control or self-controlled works individually, but kind of defeats the purpose of using the * to find all occurrences.

Search does not produced desired results in other translations as well.

Try using "self*control*" (without quotes), and I think you'll get just what you want.

You can also just enter "selfcontrol*" without the hyphen or an asterisk to represent the hyphen.

In spite of the fact that there are other ways to accomplish the search, this does look like a bug. Accordance should not be returning an error when you use a wildcard with a hyphenated word.
