12.2.9 gets some screentime in Dr J's latest podcast

Going back over old podcasts by Dr J it is interesting to see how the interface of Accordance has changed over the years. The old podcasts are like a time capsule showing us a range of version numbers right back to 8.4 (oh and by the way a much younger looking Dr J).

But the boffins at OakTree seem to have invented a time machine with the latest podcast version showing a yet to be released Accordance 12.2.9. This brings to mind all kinds of questions? What will the future bring to Accordance features? Will we see tagged International bibles and the completed BHQ? Will Accordance be ported to OS/2? Will we be able to run more than two panes in iOS? Dr J inquiring minds want to know. Our only request is that you use this time machine for good and not harm.

Sincerely,

The Accordance User Fan Base

I sold my copy of OS/2 Warp for about $5 in a yard sale a few years back. If we were to port Accordance to OS/2, I’ll really be kicking myself.

Would you believe I have been hosting and producing Lighting the Lamp for almost ten years now?!?

Originally, we just though we'd provide video podcasts to cover all of Accordance's features, much like we do in our free, all-day seminars. I thought my assignment was to work myself out of a job! Instead LTL gained a following of its own (69K downloads in the first six months on iTunes). It expanded to include Bible study techniques, sample Bible studies, and reviews of resources—and we added another four distribution channels. Of course, the busier our programmers have been adding new features, the more podcasts we need on those features. I still can't believe I've done this now for almost a decade.

As to Accordance's version number (dot-update), I start working several weeks ahead of a release and often with the current Accordance beta. It gives me a chance to beta test new features and ensures I gain skill in the newest features. I had expected 12.2.9 to be released before this podcast. I imagine it will be released in the next few days.

Yes Rick, but what comes after 12.2.9, 12.3 or 13 :-?...  How can the Accordance team expect us to sleep at night? :-)

I actually know the exact answer but probably can’t say yet. I can tell you that it will definitely be one of the two numbers you propose.
