Research PAIN

I am sure there is someway to change this because I know it did not always behave so, yet i gave up searching the preferences to find out what i had done wrong.

Up at the top of our workspace screen we have the handy Research Bubble (which i have entered COW into),

Upon hitting return I should get multiple results from this query but instead I get:

If I select all from the drop down menu like so:

I get the expected results that I feel I should have received in the first place:

While I realize this is only an extra step taking a minute at most, it is a completely unnecessary step that I never use to need to do. Something has broken and I don't know how to fix it. Please help.

Hi Dan,

I was able to run the search. Your search bubble though looks different from mine. Perhaps you are on a different version. But what group is the Research bubble searching ? It may not be the same as the text tab itself and that might be why it finds no hits. For example in my case a Research Unicode for All Tools for cow returns no hits.

thx

D

Yes I think UNICODE may be the issue but do not know how to change it. tried playing around in the research preferences but without luck.

Daniel, try selecting ‘[All]’ from the little magnifying glass menu in the search box you are using on the top right. It seems as though it is set to some old preference somehow.
