mpratt
I want to do a Synoptic gospel study of Mt. 3:1-6, Mk. 1:2-6, and Lk. 3:3-6, that all tell the same story. I want to quickly identify which words appear in all three. I remember there is a fast way to do this but cannot remember how or figure it out. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thank you, Michael

Thank you, Michael I'm not sure what I'm looking for is possible in Accordance? I found the "compare" function and it only applies to multiple same text sections from different translations. If there is a way to compare/contrast the Synoptics quickly, let me know. Perhaps a function for a future version?

Thank you, Michael That's an excellent question. I've been a long-time BW user and, in that program, it would be pretty easy to make a word list for each of the first two texts, then cull those to retain only the words common to both. From that curated list you could then search for those words which are also found in the third text. But I don't know how to make a word list in Accordance, much less one that could automatically eliminate words not common to two texts, which could then become the basis for a third search. So if anyone knows how to do something like that, I'm all ears as well!

Donald Cobb
Sweet! Thank you Mark. That not only works well but it's elegant as well. Is there an easy way to remove words that aren't necessarily relevant? I'm thinking of definite articles and pronouns. I suppose a "NOT" would be the easiest? Mark Allison
This should do the trick.

Benjamin Gladd
This is great! I wonder if Accordance could make this into an easy-to-use feature.
Abram K-J
It would be neat to click once from any passage in the Gospel Parallels module to pull up something like what Mark showed--perhaps even including a preference option (like Compare Texts has) to choose whether to ignore articles, etc.

Benjamin Gladd
I'm trying to reproduce this search, but my Luke tab isn't working. See attached. Thanks!
Abram K-J
I notice that your first two tabs have the NA28 with "Sigla" but "Sigla" is not in your search string. Is that it? Maybe it's finding a non-Sigla NA28 somewhere else in your Accordance?
Benjamin Gladd
That's it! Thanks! How can I juxtapose the panes and not use tabs? Mark Allison
That's it! Thanks! How can I juxtapose the panes and not use tabs? Just drag the tab into their own zones.
