Bandera123
I was looking at Amos 6:3 and the Old Greek has misunderstood the MT and has oi euchomai but Accordance's LXX text has oi erchomenoi. Why the discrepancy? Which LXX text is Acordance uding?
Helen Brown
We have several texts, the main one is Rahlfs LXX, but we also have the Swete text and the Goettingen for some of the books. These are clearly variant readings. The LXX Apparatus (Rahlfs) shows that Alexandrinus and saeculum VI, Codex Marchalianus have euchomai so apparently the other MSS support erchomenoi. This is what the Goettingen Apparatus has (don't ask me to interpret it): 3 οἱ εὐχόμενοι] α´ οι αποκεχωρισμενοι (-χορ cod.) σ´ οι αφωρισμενοι 86 (index mend. super ἐγγίζοντες) Syh (א.ם. הלין דפרישין); θ´ οι απαγομενοι Syh All of which goes to demonstrate the importance of the Apparatus modules for the original texts.
