Reporting Corrections trouble

Recommended Posts

Here are a couple errors in Edersheim's "Life and Times of Jesus the Messiah (see attached).

Now, I'm unable to use the "Report Correction" function in Accordance because it automatically launches Microsoft Outlook (I'm a Windows user), and I don't use Microsoft Outlook.  I've already tried removing this program from being the default mail client, but am sadly unable (ugh).  I'm pretty decent with Windows 7 (been using it for years), but this thing seems to be "hardwired" in, and I'm not going to mess with the registry.

Therefore, if clicking "Report Correction" in Accordance is supposed to open an email client, can someone just tell me what email address I'm supposed to report these corrections to?  I want to help out where I can.  Thanks.

Are they errors in the edition or errors that Accordance made? I am not sure but that may make a difference. The email I see based off what pops up on my Mac using this function is corrections@accordancebible.com. I hope that helps!

Almost certainly in Accordance, as the errors pertain to the hyperlinked references (see attached screenshots above).

Terrific, exactly what I needed.  Thanks, Matt.

Yes, just send any correction reports to corrections@accordancebible.com. We usually collect them and work on them all at once when they hit a certain critical mass for a Text or Tool (no one would want a module updated every time a single minor scanning error was corrected). If the error is critical, then of course we'll correct it asap.

If an error is the result of a bad scan, or an obvious error such as a quoted verse that doesn't match the reference, we'll fix that. If the error is in the print edition, we'll generally contact the publisher before we make the correction (unless it's an obvious fix).

You'll probably find more errors in older public domain works due to scanning issues. We try to clean them up as much as possible, but it would be cost prohibitive to professionally proofread Spurgeon's 63-volume sermon set, for example.

That being said, we highly value your correction reports. With your help, we'll make every resource as perfect as possible.

Thank you, Matt and Mark.  This is also useful to me, as I don't use a mail app (only web-based email).

I'll try to be clear about module name and location of the error if I ever need to report something.
