I have taken a look, and am grateful that such a thing exists.  It definitely seems to offer good potential for future projects as well--things that don't make it into Accordance' official pipeline.  At this point, I haven't yet installed anything, but may get around to doing so soon.  Thanks, Rick!

It has been awhile since checking it out, but I do have some and thanks to those for making these resources available.

I've just now submitted three User-Bible files, which are transcribed manuscripts from the Peshitta Syriac tradition of the apostles' writings ("NT").  These will be of particular value to any who are interested in textual criticism of Aramaic / Syriac versions of Scripture (i.e. looking closer at variants, instead of just relying on a critical edition, which Accordance currently uses).

My submission is with explicit permission of the copyright holder, and I've added my own write-ups on the modules, since I formatted them for Accordance, specifically.

Terrific.  I just installed this new file, and it works great.  Thanks for making these available.  (And I'm grateful for the Jewish touch too :)

Note for Windows users: The folder "AppData" in the filepath C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Local\Accordance\Accordance Preferences is likely to be a hidden folder, so if you don't find it, open "Folder and search options" and select "View," and then "Show hidden folders and files."

Maybe the files need to be approved, but I'm not seeing these on the site. Do you have a direct link?

Thanks for making these available!

I think Ken just hasn’t made them available yet. Although Ken runs our Accordance Exchange site, in his “day job,” he’s an actual medical doctor! I assume that keeps him pretty busy :-)

I’ll send him an email and let him know folks are anxious to download the new Bibles. And thank you for posting them, TYA.

Yes, as Rick noted, I just submitted them, so they simply haven't been approved yet.  I'll stick with the process here, as there should be no problem.

Yes I have too. I give a look every 2-3 months.

But I wait till Accordance support more of my wishes as I have mentioned in the Feature Requests to give free to download.

Greetings

Fabian

as I have mentioned in the Feature Requests to give free to download.

I'm a little confused by this.  What do you mean by "give free to download"?  Aren't the resources on the Exchange free to download already?

Sorry my English is not on the highest level. Maybe still a comma is missing to distinguish between ...

I have done a lot of feature requests for User Tools, User Bibles etc. which are not implemented today.

But I don't want give some User Tools to the Exchange as a (free) download, if I'm not satisfied with the result.

Greetings

Fabian

2018.12.03 Update: I see that the 3 Peshitta mss have now been posted at the Exchange here. Note that to get them into Accordance you need to use the File > User Files > Import Bible Text. (I.e., they are not simply the double-click module to install.)

Also note that there is a helpful Word Doc accompanying the text explaining not only matters related to the text but how best to use it in Accordance. These Peshitta mss are most useful if you do also have the Accordance Peshitta Add-on package.

Thank you again to @TYA for providing these texts!

Correct, and as the "Instructions" file (included in the zip folder) indicates, you will want to import all of these with "Peshitta NT-Tagged" versification.  If, however, you have trouble with versification once installed, feel free to reach out to me with a private message here in the forum.

Also note that there is a helpful Word Doc...

Yes, definitely read that.  I wrote that up myself with permission to post these texts on the Exchange to make it easier for Accordance users.  I do suggest recommended usage for Accordance in that document, and there is specific information about each manuscript.

Yes, I recommend this wonderful package from Accordance--one of my personal favorites, and well-made.

Thank you again to @TYA for providing these texts!

I thank G-d.  Also, I am submitting today another Peshitta text to the Exchange, which will hopefully be available soon.  Keep your eye out for that.

  • 2 weeks later...

I've used it in the past but need to check in again and load up on everything I've missed since then!
