TYA
Great day everyone, While anticipating future enhancements to search functionality, I'm trying to find a workaround in the meantime for finding information in a "two-tier" fashion (i.e., searching for something following an initial search, or to put it differently, searching for something within the proximity of an initial search). I'm therefore trying to use the "Within words" function (and I could explain the specific motivation later, as it won't be apparent from this screenshot); however, I'm not getting the desired effect. Why am I not getting the expected hits shown in this screenshot? Thanks as always for the help. Edited November 30, 2018 by TYA
jarcher
That's a definite bug. I think it is somehow related to the em dash. No data after the em dash is being found. Edit: Same behavior in the Greek Strong's Dictionary. Edited November 30, 2018 by jarcher
jarcher
Actually.. looks like data after the em dash is "English Translation" not "English Content". This should do it.
TYA
I think it is somehow related to the em dash. No data after the em dash is being found. Jarcher, you are a hero--always a blessing. ... data after the em dash is "English Translation" not "English Content". I'm speechless. Who was to know that? (And the ironic thing is that I was even toggling those two filters just a few minutes before making this post, as I was looking up the real terms that led me to make this documentation; but there was no em dash at that time to deal with.) But this reminds me of what I wrote (in post #13 here) when I was unable to find something else because of the search filters making (seemingly) totally arbitrary changes. The title of the Talmud section was literally (with caps): "YERUSHALMI SHEBIIT CHAPTER TWO". It is totally illogical to me that the words "CHAPTER" and "TWO" would be tagged as titles, while "YERUSHALMI" and "SHEBIIT" aren't; yet they're literally in the same line / title--clearly what any reasonable person would consider the title. Sincerely sir, how can part of the chapter heading "YERUSHALMI SHEBIIT CHAPTER TWO" be considered a Title in the search filter, and part of it *not* be considered a Title in the search filter? Accordance: I love you, but I hope the point is clear here. Edited November 30, 2018 by TYA
