Get Verses - A Formatting Desire

Right now it appears that the "Get Verses" has pretty limited formatting options when working with an MS Word document (Word for Mac, in my case). I would love to see the ability to paste a set of verses that are "discontiguous" and blocked into paragraphs with the reference after each passage. Bibleworks had this feature in its "Pop-up Window," and it was very useful for sermons and any writing project where sets of verses are listed out.

Accordance can do this if I input the texts one at a time in separate "Get Verses" instances. But otherwise I am left with some clunky options.

In other words, I'd love to be able to type in "John 3:16; 1 John 4:7-12; Rev 21:1-2" in the Get Verses line and have it spit out:

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16)

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. 8 Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. 9 In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. 10 In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12 No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us. (1 John 4:7–12)

Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. 2 And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. (Rev 21:1–2)

Ideally, the verse numbers would be superscripts, too!

Thanks,

Daniel

You can do this customizing your Preferences -> Citation.  Specifically, you may be looking for Split Discontiguous Verses.

The verse numbers will be superscripts if the text you are copying from has them set to be superscripted.

Edit: I misspoke!  This feature works when Copying As citation, but not in Get Verses when using Citation.  This is definitely a bug we'll get fixed asap.

Looks like in the latest release (12.3.2) the contiguous feature truly works. Thank you to the programmers!!
