Timeline questions

When I define a new region in the time line, I don't appear to be able to use that region in any of the user defined objects, or as part of the time line display. This means that if the region I want isn't already defined, then I must choose "world" or the object is assigned to an incorrect region.

When I define a new Layer, and then display that layer, the "world" region isn't display, and all user objects associated with "world" are missing from the timeline.

What am I missing?

Additionally, is there anyway to import a list of user items?

Mike,

I don't think there is a way to define new Regions in the Timeline.  You are possibly defining new Region Layers, which are customizable groups of regions that give you control over how that region looks.  There's no way to make a new Region, like "Spain".

For your New Layer, are you sure you marked the checkbox next to "World" in the Define Region Layers dialog?  Are you sure that your Items Layer is set to show User Items?

There is no way to batch import a list of user items at this time.  You can replace all of your user items with another list, but you can't add to your list from another.

Yes, what I was defining is a region layer.

It would be nice to be able to define new regions and import and export timeline data; it would make customizable features of the timeline much more usable.

In my case, I would like to add Islamic history to the time line, but the history crosses the region boundaries that are defined and you can only assign one region to an object.

Because there is no data on Islamic history on the time line, there are many objects to create and an import file would be far easier.
