Accordance wants access to control Finder

Tonight after updating content within Accordance, I was presented with this dialog:

I know Apple has slowly added more access restrictions to apps, but this warning is a bit unnerving.  What's even more odd, after a couple minutes of staring at it and trying to decide whether to allow it, the prompt went away, I received another prompt from Accordance about not having access to the Internet then Accordance crashed (before I could take a screenshot of the second one).

After restarting, I received the prompt about recovering from a crash and I chose not restore my session and things seem back to normal.

Should I be concerned?

I would guess it may have to do with support files like notes and highlighting. But also possibly with drop box sync. We will have to wait for someone from Accordance to know for sure but I personally would not be worried.

It’s not for those files as I’ve found the entry in my Apple Settings and it hadn’t been granted, yet my syncing, notes and highlights are working as expected. I only had one other app that had been granted this access (and it made sense), so this seems rather unusual.

I think the Finder is just asking this since we are manipulating installed modules on your system when installing updates.

Hmm... well, I didn't grant it (since Accordance crashed) — and confirmed it still hasn't been granted in System Preferences, but checking for updates shows nothing available, so I'm guessing it succeeded without it?
