Can I search for particular Hebrew forms such as, ת□□□ך … or is that not possible? If so, how would I go about doing that?

Why? My textbook has given me a sample for ותשׁמרך and I want to see other similar forms.

Best wishes and thanks from Chile.

Mmm, this is my first post, can I change my user name to my real name, or is that too late?

Hi Gregorio,

  Welcome to the forums.

Try : "ת*ך=" for the search you want.

As to your name you cannot change the user name but you can change the display name shown in your posts and profile. Go to the My Settings page from the drop down menu under your name on the top right of the page. In there select the Display Name tab and update it to what you want.

Thx

D

Thank you Ruby. Is there a way to make sure the * represent at least two or three letters?

Also, thanks so much, I was able to made some adjustments, and add my name through a signature (I did not see where I could do that instead of my user name, but actually, it does not matter much since the footnote contains my name. It shows an option to add an image to our signature, and while I played with the options, I did not figure that one out.

Thanks again!

If you found the Signature part of the settings you should see the "Display Name" tab just above it. If not, it is possible it won't show up until you've hit some minimum number of posts. I don't know this is so, but it is for some things.

Secondly, Ruby is a rank, not a name. My name is Daniel but I have it in Hebrew, set via the Display Name, actually. Being new, your rank is Member. It will change as you hit certain numbers of posts.

If you want specific numbers of characters then use ?? or ??? , for two or three characters respectively.

Thx

D

Excellent, Daniel, I did not pay attention to the grey band, and yes, I now see your name there. Thanks for correcting me. I will try your suggestion. Thanks so very much.

Thanks so very much! The ??? worked. It turns out there is only one instance of that form in the Hebrew Bible. And it is not related to what my grammar is teaching me. I suspect it is a theoretical point about a female form that just doesn't appear. And because I find it confusing, and because I am interested in reading the Hebrew Bible, I will delete that flashcard and leave it for another time. You have been most helpful. It worked! Thanks, דניאל
