I am studying Hebrew construct chains. It would be great to do a search through the Hebrew Bible for construct chains. Is that possible? I began to play with tags, and construct state, but that did not yield construct chains. Any suggestions would be very appreciated on a search that yields construct chains. Many thanks!

Hi Gregorio,
Try this for a simple 2 element construct chain.

[ANY construct] <FOLLOWED BY> <WITHIN 1 Words> [NOUN absolute]

Seemed to work for me. You can alter the number of terms and you can add bracketed <OR> Terms if you want to add adjectives.

Ken,

This worked perfectly. Thanks so much. With this as my starting base I can try and expand from there, but for the moment, this will do exactly what I was hoping for. Thanks so much. Oh, by the way, I hit the page about you, and see that we have astronomy as another interest together. And we both have a Nathan for a grandson. That is pretty cool. Thanks again.

Hi ya,

This will get you articular absolutes at the end of the chain as well:

Note also that the <FOLLOWED BY> <WITHIN 1 Words> is not strictly required in a search like this where the items are adjacent; a simple list of space separated terms is enough.

  Alas, this :

does not work, which means for longer chains you have to put the additional [NOUN construct] elements in both halves of the search, like this :

Thx

Thanks, דניאל, I will have to 'play' with what you sent me and practice. Daniel, would something similar work for a three-word chain? Thanks, Gregorio

If you mean three construct state nouns before the absolute then sure. (Three nouns, two construct and one absolute is covered by the last case above.) Here's the new search:
