Hi, how do I search for inseparable prepositions, either a specific one, or any one. Such as ל מ כ ב? Thanks!

For a single preposition, do a word search and type the letter in, then choose the word from Quick Entry. All the letters except the mem will have a shivah underneath them. The mem is a contraction of min, so select מִן. Once you select the word, it will appear in the Search Entry box with an equals sign (=) before it. Run the search.

To find all of them in a single search, enter each one, separate them each with a comma, then enclose the whole in parentheses: (מִן, =לְ, =בְּ, =כְּ=).

Enjoy!

Hi,

Don't mean to hijack the thread, but I found value in being able to search for two words at once. I've previously tried to use a comma, but now I see there is a way to do this sort of thing with an equals sign?

I'm looking up specific words and I will get a better understanding of a theory as a whole if I can see how these words relate to each other. Sometimes it's hard to parse the original word (character) that I am trying to get a definition of so that is why I'm looking at the context of how words are used together. I have the light version but found the Strongs for ESV to be very valuable. Is there a way to look up two key number words at the same time? I tried to search for "Spirit=Soul" and it didn't work.

Also, IDK what a preposition is, but there is a character found in Hebrew that I am trying to figure out what it means and I can't seem to get it by itself. Is there an easy way to do that?

Jesus started His ministry as a commandment of God through His mother, whom he obeyed, to urged Him to begin His ministry. What transpires from that is Him as the greatest light of the world that ever was and ever will be. As a representation of this, he did a miracle and from six pots of water He made into wine that represents humanity at large. He made the wine into the best tasting wine as a representation of what He does for those of us who believe He was God and did the Work of God so that He might send out His Spirit upon the whole world.

One other question. Is there a page with search examples for all this type of crazy searches? I have watched the videos on searching that are posted under Webinars, but a summary sample searches would really be great!

Hi, Jesse!

Accordance uses the equals sign to indicate an exact search (one that requires specific vowel points in Hebrew and matches initial and final character forms, breathing marks, accents, etc.).  You're correctly using commas within parentheses to separate items in a list.

Yes, searching for key numbers is VERY helpful. You can look up two Key numbers, like this:  [KEY H8064] <AND> [KEY H0776].  You can also separate searches for Key numbers with commas, just as you do regular words.

Prepositions in Hebrew work just the same way they do in English (Google "preposition), but they are usually attached to the beginning of the word.

Hope this helps—and glad you are enjoying Accordance!

Hi Gregorio,

Check out the docs on Hebrew searching : http://accordancefil...t=hebrew search

And if you want more examples or a different explanation I have a crib sheet at http://47rooks.com/l...w-search-cribs/.

Incidentally, there is yet more to searching, so reading the entire search section of the docs is very beneficial.

Thx

D
