Speculation on Apple direction for the iOS apps

I have read an interesting article about the plans of Apple for the iOS Apps and MacOS apps as well. It seems to me that the direction apple is taking matches the long term objective of Accordance product team.

Here is the article: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2019-02-20/apple-is-said-to-target-combining-iphone-ipad-mac-apps-by-2021

The idea is that there are plans to make a unified app development between macOS and ios. Not that the operating systems will combine (at least not for now), but the app development will combine. So it is possible that with few minor changes (relatively speaking), the same code can be utilized for ipad and Mac apps.

This could explain why some companies started creating a full featured versions for the ipad such as Adobe. There are limitations on the ipad due to the ios itself. But it seems that many of these limitations will go away in ios 13.

This plays very well with the long term goal of Accordance ot have full-featured Accordance app for the ipad. But it also highlights the importance of the product development from the ipad perspective. My speculation and experience is that ipad apps are more user friendly than a typical app in either windows or mac. The extra focus on usability and ease of use (quality of feature) over the quantity of features is a matter of great concern for Apple. This might suggest the goal of unified binaries is built from the direction of ios apps towards the mac and not the other way around. This suggests that in the future, the Accordance ios App for the ipad is important not just for the ipad but for the mac also.

Of course, there is an element of speculation in what i wrote, but we do not have to wait too long to learn more about this as ios13 is within months.

I am wondering what happens when Apple moves to ARM-based chips for macOS based products in a few years as mentioned by: https://apple.slashdot.org/story/19/02/24/0247214/apple-expected-to-move-mac-line-to-custom-arm-based-chips-starting-next-year-says-report

This makes me think of the 68000 —> PowerPC —> Intel transitions in the past—all changes that Accordance worked through. I suspect fun times ahead for the programmers. ;)
